OUCH!!!!!!!

Here's a story of a photographer getting stabbed by a javelin at a HS track meet. Damn! That is nasty. Stuff like this makes me really squeamish!

As big of a Redskins fan that I am, I've never seen the footage of Joey T. getting his leg dismantled on national tv. Don't plan on seeing it either.

The Lord Gives and the Lord Takes Away

As I mentioned in my previous post, the senior pastor of my church is leaving. I'm really conflicted on how I feel about it, which is probably the normal way to feel.

When we started visiting Mount Pleasant, I'd never heard a preacher preach like Jeff Ginn does. He brings the Word strong to the table but without the condemnation that many feel Southern Baptists often bring. Jeff is leaving to head up the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virgnia.

I'm glad for Pastor Jeff. He's the perfect guy to help lead our denomination across the state. He's also, I feel, the perfect guy to lead Mount Pleasant. I know the Lord will provide someone else to lead our congregation, I just can't help but feel a little lost right now. Within 12 months, our children's pastor, music pastor, and now senior pastor has left our church.

Pastor Jeff helped our church grow exponentially. He's a good man. I wish him the best, but my family will miss him greatly.

For those that are so inclined, pray for the Mount Pleasant family

Weird Weekend

I started the weekend on Friday by having an "argument" about homosexuality with local blogger Bookstore Piet on the Cats Working blog in the comments section. Like most blogging arguments, no minds were changed, but we ended as blogging buddies. Feel free to let me know how you feel that my arguments were right on the money and that I was completely right in my assesement of all the issues presented (insert self-depricating, sarcastic tone here per below comment).

Saturday was PACKED with family stuff. B. and K. had their last soccer games of the season. C. had a b-day party to go to. The party was at the Colonial Heights bowling alley. What was interesting was C. actually bowling. With his mobility issues, C. eventually had to sit down while we rolled the ball together. The bowling alley shut off the lanes after an hour without telling anyone, because gosh darnit we'd been bowling for an hour. Nevermind there was no one else in the place.

Today we had the bombshell dropped on us by our Senior Pastor at church that he's leaving to head up the Southern Virginia Baptist Convention. Good for him, bad for us. Even with all the talk of God leading him to do this, I can't help but feel abandoned. Pastor Jeff is a great teacher and I'll miss him greatly.

Hope your weekend was good. I'm going to finish watching the Indiana Jones marathon on Sci-fi channel with my kids.

BAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

I'm feeling pretty crappy today. It's pretty much all brought on by myself. Work, family, money, all of it seems to be going wrong recently...again brought on mostly by me.

I just wish this veil of a funk would lift. I'm trying hard to help it leave me, but it won't.

I want a good word from somewhere, but can't seem to find it. Funny thing is that the good word I'm looking for is right in front of me, but I'm such a sourpuss that I can't see it.

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Happy Moth's Day

To all the moths out there, have a happy day from my K. Isn't it awesome to look back on the cards our kids give us. Belinda thinks this is the funniest yet sweetest card K. has ever given her.

I love it too.
