I'm a believer in Christ. I don't use follower right there as I haven't done much following recently. I know all of the things that good "Christian soldiers" are supposed to do, but I just can't seem to force myself to do them recently.
However, I've been on a road recently that has lead me back to the source of all hope for true disciples, the Bible. I go pretty regularly to a group of guys that sit around and talk with one another, pray for one another, and try to build each other up in the name of Christ. Chris, who attends the group, suggested we started reading some sort of book together recently. Like guys tend to do, we didn't come up with a decision on what to read. We did look at Scripture and felt that was a great place to start, but no plan was put in place.
I also have been discussing faith with a coworker of mine that claims himself as a Christadelphian. Some of this denomination's views are a little off the beaten path when related to what the Word of God says. My friend at work and I haven't really debated things but discussed things in depth, using Scripture as our reference point. Really researching why I believe the things I believe in Scripture has been awesome!
Finally, I overheard some folks talking at the church picnic about truly listening to God through reading His word. Plain and simple, yet true. God has spoken to us, but it's our job to actively listen.
So I've started earnestly reading the Word again. It's been an adventure that I'm glad I finally picked back up. I'm not gonna say it's all been an activity that I give my whole attention to, but I do it no matter what, for a whole week now (I know, Iknow...a whole 7 days). Try it out. Here's the reading plan I've been using. I like this reading plan, as it keeps you in one book at a time, which allows you to really stitch the whole story together.

Your Christadelphian coworker will have the answers, just ask him or her. You need to ask yourself are you looking for Truth, or are you just after something that makes you feeh comfortable?
Have a look at www.thisisyourbible.com

Chris,
I appreciate you stopping by. How did you find my blog?
My coworker has answers. He is well versed in what he believes. However, given the Bible as it is written, not to what is ascribed to say, the answers he has are wrong, in my view. This has nothing to do with being comfortable. Following Christ is not comfortable at all.
I've examined Wrested Scriptures by Abel and have found some gaping holes in the logic presented.
I'm not being pompous, just honest.
I look forward to reading your response.
I see that no reply has come from the "Land Down Under" -- must have made him uncomfortable - :-) td
Tim,
Per sitemeter, several people from the land of oz have stopped by, but no comments.
I am going to try to follow your reading path. I just keep reading the book of James or other random pieces...I myself am on a journey for knowledge...so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by. I love your blog.
The reading plan is tough. It's a lot to get through, but it's also great! I've loved it so far.
I just finished Hosea and am on to Joel. I NEVER thought I'd enjoy those books as much as I have.
The reading plan just helps you link things together. Help you realize what an awesome collection of books the Bible is.
