Joy Is What It's About
While picking up my kids from a local Christian sports camp, it hit me again for the millionth time. It's not about Democrats, Republicans, etc. It's about joy.
Knowing Christ as my best imaginary friend is the most joyful thing in the world.
I promise going forward to not engage in any argument about the poilitical validity of my faith, but instead do things in Christ's name to spread what it's all about...unspeakable,unbridled, shout out loud, joy!!!
Sounds pretty radical, doesn't it?
The Temp's Shoe is Farting
She's very nice and has an interesting past. She used to own her own fudge/candy store. Point is, she's pretty cool.
Her shoes on the other hand...not so cool. It has nothing to do with what they look like, it's the fact that they fart every time she get's up to do something. It's not the "HE HE HE" those shoes sorta sounds like they're farting. These dag on things make me look around every time she walks because they sound so real.
Nothing like making a first impression with your farting shoes. Plus, it's not like someone can say anything. How would that conversation go? "Excuse me, miss, but I believe you're having some gastro-intestinal issues we need to discuss. Oh wait, it's your shoes? Well then, I guess that's ok..."
If you couldn't tell, stupid things really crack me up...More serious minded post to follow tonight...

I have the meanest co-worker ever
I'm transitioning at my job from a sales role to more of an account management role. The woman training me is the best, or so I thought. M. is cruel to the core. Why you ask? Here's why...
That's right folks, Milli freakin' Vanilli. M. thought it would be hilarious to make everyone in the office sing one of the worst songs ever thought of. She would play the song from her little music phone, and damn if it didn't work. I can't stop singing, humming, and/or thinking about this terrible collection of notes.
Damn, you M. Damn you! I feel a Banana Phone bomb in your near future!

52
As an aside, Birkdale is an awesome place to play. Only $2o-some for nine holes and that comes with a GPS enabled golf cart.
Looking forward to playing on Tuesday.
Have a great week everyone!

Radio Disney is taking over my brain
This morning I went to put gas in B's Jeep. I got in not expecting to be brainwashed.
The radio was already on the local Radio Disney, AM 1290 (for the kids, I swear!).
Next thing I know, I'm singing out loud to the Jonas Brothers' hit, "The Year 3000"! I couldn't believe it. The lyrics include the awesome hook of, "Here's to the year 3000...Not much changed 'cept we live under water...and your great, great, great granddaughter is doing fine...doing fine..." What has happened? Is the Magic of Disney actually Black Magic that is infecting my brain? I actually used to like good music.
Oh well, happy Friday all! Enjoy the Jonas Brothers at your leisure. Come on, you know you want to.

1, 2, 3, Like a Burd I Swing...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I don't know if you've heard Tim McGraw's song "123 Like a Bird I Sing," BUT C. certainly has.
Every five minutes or so, he would "serenade" us with "1...2...3...Like a burd I thwing." Like any 4 year old, he hears something and lets EVERYONE know that he knows a new song.
The above picture is either him being wise to the fact that we were about to kill him if we heard another verse so he pretended to be out, or his inner country star had just plum played out.
Man, vacation was fun!
Another Flower Blossoms in Petersburg
Good job everyone!

Organized Religion is Not True Christianity, Brad
In case you don't read my last comment, here it is
I won’t comment on your personal attacks. There isn’t a point in that. If if makes you feel better to claim you don’t “suffer fools lightly,” well, then, congrats.
You wanna argue a point, then argue this statement you made about Christianity and Islam: “delusions to further belief structures damaging to the lives of ordinary people, to placate them, and to wage wars to make the powerful more powerful.”
I can only speak towards Christianity, but where in the Bible does Christ or any of the apostles mention furthering belief structures to placate anyone or waging wars to make the powerful more powerful? True Christianity is not based on what organized religion espouses, but what Christ said and asked us to do.
Your argument seems to be based against organized religion and not the beliefs of Christians. Any politician, Demorcrat or Republican, that uses religion to further a political ideal is typically traipsing out their faith as another plank in their platform. Christianity is about putting others first, following Christ, and loving God above all others? What is wrong with that ideology? Are those the ideals that are poisoning America or is it some agenda of a denomination to which you’re referrring?
Has evil been done in the name of Christianity and Christ? Absolutely! I personally ask for the forgiveness of those others who’ve ever been harmed in the name of Christ or any organized religion.
I do believe (and that’s what this boils down to…belief or faith) that following Christ is a noble thing and what God wants us to do. Can that be argued? No more so than the feeling that the warm sun feels good on your face or that you might like the smell of rain.
I’m sure I’ve said some hypocritical things. I’m a hypocrite EVERY DAY! Thank God he’ll take me, and you for that matter, back EVERY DAY. I will not pretend to be some intellectual giant that has perfect thoughts or posts, because I’m not. I do believe I add a valuable voice to the public discourse and will continue to do so.
If this makes you respond with some smart-ass comment about how ignorant I am, then so be it. I’ve tried, and will continue, to compliment you on views of yours that I agree with, and have tried to find common ground with you, which I think I did on your love for music.
Let me know what you think!
